The University of Oklahoma has announced the 2013 recipients of the Presidential Professorships. Supported entirely by private gifts to the University, Presidential Professorships are designed to honor, reward and retain top faculty members who demonstrate excellence in teaching, research and mentoring. These highly selective awards are given for four-year terms and provide an annual stipend of $10,000 for full professors and annual stipends of $5,000 for associate and assistant professors.

These professors are known for inspiring and guiding their undergraduate and graduate students through the process of research and creative activity within their discipline. Presidential Professors exemplify to their students and their colleagues the ideals of a scholar through their endeavors in teaching, service, research and creative activity.
