HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. CROSS!—Sometime before dawn on May 12, a wreath of crimson roses and cream spider mums mysteriously appeared at the base of the statue of the University of Oklahoma’s seventh president, George Lynn Cross. Cross, who was born on that date in 1905, seems to be celebrating his 100th birthday from one of his favorite vantage points, surveying Parrington Oval, looking north from Evans Hall. Responsible for the botanical offering were the members of Pe-et, OU’s senior leadership honorary.
